The Sanctuary at Haafville

The Sanctuary at Haafville

The Sanctuary at Haafville

Established 13 years ago, The Sanctuary at Haafsville is a non-profit, no-kill shelter - providing a safe, temporary home for rescued dogs and cats. We provide medical care to all animals we take in, prior to putting them up for adoption. We adopted out over 1,300 cats and dogs in 2022. Our facility, located on 8 acres, includes a dog shelter typically housing 12 - 20 dogs, a cat shelter housing 40-60 cats, and large walking trails to provide animal exercise. We have over 150 volunteers who donate time and energy to provide the best possible care to our animals - and we've been able to build a great reputation in both the local and regional animal welfare communities. With the increasing costs of pet food, supplies, and medical care, The Sanctuary is most appreciative of those who choose to help our animals by donating to our organization.

Logan's Heroes Animal Rescue

Animal House Project

For The Love Of Alex is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides emergency funding for life-saving veterinary care for pets whose families are low-income. Many veterinary emergencies cost thousands of dollars, and most hospitals will only see an animal with a deposit. When a low-income family faces this, they may be forced to surrender or euthanize their pet. We pay veterinarians, pharmacies, and pet food distributors directly to protect our donor’s interests and ensure the pet gets the medical care they need.

Monroe County Meals on Wheels

We provide home delivered meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Monroe County. In 2009 we started our Pet Program which provides pet food to our clients to assist them in caring for their pets. This program began because some of our staff realized that clients were sharing their meals with their pets. We provide our clients with a two-week supply of pet food delivered once a month by our dedicated volunteers. We limit the program to two pets per client so that we have enough pet food for all of the participants. Our program relies solely on donations of pet food and monetary funds designated for this program.
